Technology Travel Tips

Login or register on Beanstack and choose the Reading Challenge that fits your reading style. 
Read to Me Challenge (50 Books)
Casual Reader Challenge (15 Hours)
Avid Reader Challenge (30 Hours)

All Reading Challenge participants can pick up an Adventure Pack filled with information, a few small surprises, and activities to do at home beginning June 1. Complete the Reading Challenge by July 19th to qualify for the Grand Prize Drawing. Half-way and Completion Prize Packs may be earned until July 29. 

Want to track your reading with a paper log? No problem! Call the library to register and pick up your paper log and an Adventure Pack beginning June 1.

Classic Film Friday
Friday, May 20 from 1:00 to 3:00pm - The Unsinkable Molly Brown 

Enjoy free popcorn while you watch this comedy musical starring Debbie Reynolds and Harve Presnell, which depicts a fictionalied account of the life of Titanic survivor, Margaret Brown. Reynolds was nomicated for an Academy Award for Best Actress for her rousing, boisterous portrayal of Brown. 

Genealogy Discussion Group
Monday, May 23 6:30-7:30pm
Whether you're a novice in researching ancestry, or already a seasoned genealogist, all are invited to come join in on this initial discussion group to kick off the new year. This is a collaboration of Brimfield Public Library & the Peoria County Genealogical Society. This series will be led by Kim Hanks, the Peoria County Genealogical Society President. 

Yoga at the Library
Thursdays from 6:00 to 7:00pm
Reduce your stress while toning and stretching with yoga instructor Nancy Shallenberger. Appropriate for all fitness levels.  Please wear comfortable, stretchy clothing, and bring a yoga mat. Cost is $4.00 per class. No registration is required. Masks will be required and social distancing spacing will be enforced. 

Mahjong Club
Every Other Thursday 9:00-12:00
Come play a classic Chinese game of stategy, skill, and summation, Beginners welcome. Call the library for meeting dates and more information. 

Puzzle Club
Fridays 10:00-12:00 beginning May 6th
Enjoy jigsaw puzzles? Come to the library and work in a fun, laid-back atmosphere in the company of others who enjoy putting together puzzles too. 300-piece to 1,000-piece sizes to choose from.  

Book Club
4th Tuesday of the month from 1:00 to 2:00pm

Join us for book club on the fourth Tuesday of each month from 1:00-2:00. New members are always welcome! Stop by the circulation desk to pick up a copy of this months book.

The Brimfield Book Club voted their best book read in 2021 to be "All the Light We Cannot See" by Anthony Doerr which is a New York Times Bestseller about a blind French girl and a German boy whose paths collide in occupied France as both try to sruvive the devastation of World War II. The runner up chosen by the book club was "The Nightingale" by Kristin Hannah. The Nightingale also took place in German occupied France during World War II and showcases the courage of two sisters. Both books are available in multiple formats for check out at the library. Grab a copy today!

New Services
Roku Devices: The library has 3 new Roku Express streaming devices available for checkout. Each device contains Netflix, PBS, PBS Kids, Hoopla, Kanopy, and NASA TV. Devices can be checked out for 1 week at the circualtion desk. Don't have wifi at home and want to stream? Ask for a hotspot with your Roku.
