The Brimfield Public Library was awarded a 2020 Project Next Generation Grant from the Illinois State Library for the fifth year in a row. This year, students ages 10-18 have the opportunity to attend mentor-lead workshops, during which they will learn game design, gamification of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math Concepts, and virtual reality applications. Past grant monies have been used to provide workshops and programs on how to build and program robots, film and edit movies, design and print 3D objects, and operate drones. With PNG grant funds, the library has purchased a variety of equipment, including 3D pens, new 3D printers, drones robots, and Adobe Creative Suite licenses. Students can learn more about upcoming workshops by visiting the library's Project Next Generation page, and can register for workshops by contacting the library: 309-446-9575 or email@example.com. All workshops are developed pursuant to a Library Services and Technology Act grant administered by the Illinois State Library using funds provided by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services.
