Adult Activities at Brimfield PLD
Experience the 2017 Solar Eclipse
Monday, August 21 from 12:00 to 2:00
While the eclipse will not be a total eclipse in our area (it will be in southern Illinois), we will still have quite a viewing experience in Brimfield. The library will provide safe viewing glasses and will stream the NASA LiveStream from Carbondale. Drop in to try different activities and learn more about eclipses during this special event.
This event is open to all ages; parents are responsible for ensuring their children follow safe viewing guidelines.
Glasses are made available by STARnet, NASA @ My Library, the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, Research Corporation for Science Advancement, and Google.
Fall workshop schedule coming soon
Yoga at the Library
Mondays from 6:00 to 7:00pm
Reduce your stress while toning and stretching with yoga instructor Jill Feinberg. Appropriate for all fitness levels. Please wear comfortable, stretchy clothing, and bring a yoga mat.
Purchase a $20 punch card good for five classes at the library's front desk to attend. Continuation of yoga classes dependent on participation.
The Brimfield Public Library is starting two new FIRST robotics teams for students in grades 4-12, and the teams need support from adult coaches, mentors, volunteers, and community businesses and organizations. If you are interested in helping a team in one or more of these capacities, please fill out this survey. Filling out a survey does not commit you to volunteering your time, but will help us better identify areas where our teams will be well supported and areas where we will need to seek out further help.
